For sudden unforeseen circumstances, South Coast Home Care also offer an emergency care service. This involves providing an emergency care package from hospitals or care homes without delay, and implementing it immediately. This service takes a very person-centred approach, but does not require the levels of consultation and planning of our other services. When an individual’s circumstances change rapidly, it is not always possible to plan a respite package. Following an accident, or a sudden deterioration in health, our experienced emergency care team are able to offer support at very short notice. Through this service, we offer trail periods for both hourly and live in care, to enable you to get a good understanding of our care services. Where necessary, this emergency care provision can be extended to permanent hourly or live in care, providing a long-term solution if a full recovery cannot be made.

Emergency care may also be required at times when you, or the person you usually care for, needs specialist care that you’re unable to provide. This might include a sudden need for short-term nursing care, or an increased level of personal care that the usual carer would feel uncomfortable with delivering. This often occurs following an illness, accident, or operation. Emergency care may be recommended suddenly to prevent admission, to hospital by carefully managing a condition. This emergency care may be provided on an hourly visit bases, where community carers will come to assist you in your home. Our competent team of carers can drop in up to four times a day, at a time which suits you. The service is tailored to your individual needs, and will always serve your best interests, while respecting your wishes. Hourly care delivered in this way is allows you maintain independence in your own home following a sudden change in circumstances, and to be supported with dignity.

Our full-time live-in care service similarly supports you to live at home following an unexpected change in your situation. Our 24-hour person centred care provides a carer to be on hand at all times of the day or night, to deliver the care you need in a person-centred way. Members of our experienced care team will take shifts in rotation, so there will always be a familiar face around to help you. Full-time live-in care allows you to live at home safely, when you may otherwise be unable to. This service also providers peace of mind for you and your loved ones, that someone is always around to help you should you need it.
